4th of July with Our Best Friends

The Fourth of July this year was awesome this year because we stayed home and celebrated with our very dear friends, The Wilsons. Casey smoked a brisket and some chicken, and Loy and I made ice cream. We ate well, ran the car out of gas going to get fireworks, went to Walmart, let the kids swim, nearly blew our face off, and sat by the street laughing until late into the night. We had THE BEST TIME!!! Gracie wasn't even freaked out by the fireworks. Here's a shot of her with a sparkler. She nearly burned Todd's face off with it. We were rolling...

The adults (and baby)

Jacob (who had always feared animals, much less cats) came up to me and said "I am used to Chasey now (their dog)." Meaning he wasn't afraid of our cat, who was bugging the crap out of him. Poor kid!

Our First Chuck E. Cheese Experience

We went to visit Daddy at work in Katy last week. We were planning on taking the kiddos to McDonalds or some other place with a playground. McDonalds was closed...at 1pm...GREAT!

So...

There was a Chuck E. Cheese's, and we stopped there. All I can say is that the girls loved it. Casey and I, ummm, well not so much. What a weird experience!

Casey was SUCH a good sport...

Meet Sock

First, there was Gracie's DeDe...

Then, there was Lillian's Lambie...

Now, introducing Sock. Ivan's comfort woobie.

So, the story is that I had Ivan in the floor with me while I was folding laundry. We had just sprung for new socks (yes, socks are a treat in this house) so I was culling the holey socks out of the pile. When I found one, I threw it in a pile beside Ivan. Well, I decided to throw one at Ivan, and it landed on his chest. And the rest is history. The pacifier in the next picture is a rare thing anymore. As long as Sock is around, Ivan is happy. He chews on it, clutches it in his little hands, and snuggles with it.

Take a look at the next pictures and see if you can find Sock:

Mr. Gattis

A trip to the Mr. Gatti's (or Mr. Sweaties, as Casey called it, because they seemed to have forgotten to turn on the A/C on a 105 degree day).

Pizza kisses (ummm...ewww, I guess, but cute nonetheless)...

Niftee Fiftees Car Show

Going to the car show...

A very treasured way to spend a Saturday evening for three reasons:

1) Its Free...
2) We get out of the house...
3) Oh, and its free!

Of course we were super excited this time because we had special guests. Todd, Loy, Mo, Jacob, Peyton, and Addy were coming with us.

"Peanut Butter Jelly Time"...

(On a side Note: The reason for the caption is because when Ivan throws his arms apart, he reminds Casey of this video.)

I think Addy was pouting because she got yelled at. So she sat down on this large uplight in the park area of the parking lot.
